A Visit to Revolutionary War Sites

My wife and I recently returned from an eastern vacation during which we visited three Revolutionary War sites pictured below. These were all taken on an iPhone.

George Washington's Headquarters at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.

Monmouth Battlefield, Freehold, New Jersey. From this hillside General Nathaniel Greene aimed his artillery raining down horror at the advancing British column in the valley below. The temperature was reaching 100 degrees on that bloody Sunday, June 28, 1778.

Washington's Crossing, Pennsylvania, looking across the Delaware to the Jersey side, Washington may have appreciated having that bridge that cold wet, windy Christmas night in 1776.
